First thing, I want to thank everyone for the incredibly thoughtful comments left on my last post. I've got to tell you, I hesitated for quite some time before hitting "publish", and even thought about deleting it once it was posted. But I'm so glad that I left it up, and so honored to have such intelligent readers. I love that whether we agree or disagree, everyone was respectful of others, and not a single troll came out of the woodworks or someone looking for a fight. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm a lucky blogger!
1) During military separations (whether short or long) how do you keep yourself positive and motivated?
Our short separations are usually only a couple of weeks, so I pretty much continue on with business as usual, maybe trying to schedule a few more lunches and outings with friends to make the days go by. We're also quite lucky, that thusfar our longest separations have only been about 4 1/2 months (not counting the 6 month separation brought about just by long distance dating and busy work schedules back in the day). During those months, I try to plan as many trips as possible and beg everyone I know to come visit me. Last deployment, I went to Japan, New York, Vermont, and Louisiana. My sister, San Fran BFF, and momsie came to visit for about a week apiece. I finished my Masters degree, thought about adopting a cat, worked my way through Insanity, and had tons of fun with friends in the local area. The time FLEW by!
2) What is your favorite concert you have ever been to?
Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas concert. I've been twice--once in Arkansas and once in Seattle. Both times were amazing, and I'd love to go again in the future.
3) What do you miss most about your “hometown”?
CRAWFISH BOILS!!!! Oh my God, I miss crawfish so freaking much. (My hometown is Baton Rouge, LA. We love us some mudbugs.)
4) If you could run in any race, which charity would you choose to support?
Breast cancer, for my mom, the survivor! I'm contemplating traveling somewhere to participate in the 3-Day Walk this year. We'll see how the next few months shake out.
5) You find out Willy Wonka is your father, what 3 course meal do you INSIST he create in that stick of gum?
Hmmm... A caprese salad, extra cheesy baked macaroni and cheese, and tiramisu. Perfect meal! What meal would you want?

I would love to see TSO! I lived in LR for six years and never went and I totally regret it.
Glad you got such positive feedback on your last post. My husband and I have been talking about religion more often recently, so I had him read your post too!

I am super jealous that you've seen Trans-Siberian Orchestra. They are rock and roll.

I LOVED seeing TSO in concert a few years ago. Not the Christmas show I was expecting, but super cool nonetheless. :)

I have to say, I've never had crawfish. That will be changing when I'm in New Orleans next month.
