Well, God bless Seattle. It's hard to be too sad about my return to Washington with the sun beaming down through my windows and a high in the low 70s today. I'm still mucking my way through all of the tasks that come along with a return home after more than a week away, but the blow is certainly softened by the gorgeous weather.
Not that I'm getting too used to it, as they're projecting a return to showers and upper 40s/low 50s by midweek. But I'm enjoying it while it lasts!
I've been toiling away in the back yard trying to coax some grass back into existence after our unusually harsh winter and months without any first aid for the dog damage. Have I ever mentioned my feelings on nature? Namely that I don't much care to have contact with it? Yesterday, I slaved away picking up an amount of dog poo that would horrify Roger and Anita then nearly had a heart attack when a little brown and red frog leapt from his hidey hole in the grass into my face. Today, I turned on the water hose at the spigot only to find that I hadn't turned off the nozzle, thus shooting myself in the face with the high powered jet of water I used at the end of my yard work yesterday to clean off the side of the house.
Not that inside is looking any less cheery as I have a paper to write that I managed to put off doing the entire time I was on vacation. But honestly, as long as the sun keeps shining, it's going to be pretty difficult to wipe the smile off my face.

Ah, Welcome home!
:-)
Don't let a change in weather get in the way of the smile on your face!

Yay, sun! Boo, nature! :-) I love that you put a link for "Roger and Anita" because of course NOW I recognize their names, but at first I thought maybe they were a couple who'd appeared on "The Dog Whisperer." Heh.

That sounds like my experiences with nature and hoses. Welcome back and hope you had a nice visit home.
