Well, I think I can finally say that I'm making my 9 year old self proud.
As of June 30th, 2008, I will once again be able to take advantage of student rates and discounts without any residual feelings of guilt as I'll be officially on my way to earning a certification and masters degree in elementary education.
And being that this is a solemn occasion, I would like to take this opportunity to declare before God and the internet that I will never photograph any of my students placing phallic objects in their mouths for "career days".
I'm the one in the middle there with the purple skirt and fashionable suspenders. Also notable, I'm the only girl actually putting the tongue depressor in my mouth. Thanks Mrs. Fuller, I'll bet this picture made my parents proud.

Congratualations!! I am so happy for you!!
Way to go!

Oh, now...that's just wrong! Aside from the choking hazard, I mean what was that teacher thinking? HA!
Good luck with school! I'm sure you'll entertain us with many funny school blog posts now.

Good for you! That sounds great and like a lot of work but I'm sure you will enjoy it. And your future class will thank you for not making them do such things in class photos!

First of all, Congratulations!!!
Second of all, those are some big tongue depressors!
Third of all, shame on them for making all the boys doctors and all the girls nurses.

I'm so excited for you! You are going to have a great time going back to school, and hopefully, you can look as cool as your 9-year-old self. You still have those suspenders, right? ;)

Congrats. I'm jealous!
Also, I dig the bangs. I also had them in 1986.

You're going for it--awesome! (And at some point in the Fall, hopefully I will be hanging with some 9-year-olds, yay.)

P.S. Just saw your twitter about books--did you get them all, already? I never bought from the school bookstore--used half.com and my discount membership card at Barnes & Noble, for everything. Good luck!

I'm going to keep reading down and hope to find out what you've decided to go back for :) Sorry I've been so lax with my reading lately -- I hope you're doing well. Love the picture!

That is SO cute! I'm so happy for you that you're going down this path. You'll be GREAT! I mentioned on my blog that I am thinking of doing the same thing after I retire. I'm going to do the online route. Maybe I can be your substitute teacher! :)
