... Successfully gave my two weeks notice on Friday. My boss was incredibly understanding, and made the whole thing so much easier for me than I would have expected. Now I have two weeks left to go before I'm gallivanting around Italy and no longer collecting a paycheck. I haven't started to regret my decision yet, but there was a very large man overflowing into my seat on the train this morning, so that might have something to do with it.
... Went to dinner at Can Can to celebrate Colby's birthday, and fell absolutely in love with burlesque! I really hate the idea of strip clubs, but for some reason when you add French music and red lighting, the whole thing becomes so much more classy! It also helped that these guys and girls were incredibly talented dancers and acrobats. I'm ready to go back for another show!
...Loved the music that was played during the Kabaret Verboten, specifically this song by Rasputina. This video doesn't do it justice, but all of us at our table were cracking up from the very beginning.
... Had a wonderful Easter dinner at Lori's house, followed up by a viewing of Michael Clayton. I find this self congratulatory poster for the movie interesting, because we pretty much universally hated the movie. Gorgeous George there was really the only redeeming quality. Imagine Erin Brokovich without the boobs, emotional involvement, and sense of self mockery, and you've got Michael Clayton.
... Made myself sick from eating far too much Easter candy. Apparently I've lost my tolerance for Dove chocolate eggs, and am suffering from a pretty serious sugar hangover today.
I hope you had a very Hoppy Easter, and hopefully spring is well on its way for all of us now!

I think you need to let Michael Clayton marinate for a while. I was prety meh after I saw it, but over time, I decided to love it.

WOOT! I came over expressly to ask you how the resignation went. So glad your boss took it well! Now just start focusing your attention on the mountains of parmesean and gallons of chianti in your near future.
I would so envy you if I weren't headed on my honeymoon, soon, too!

I made the same mistake with Cadbury mini-eggs. I ate so many that I felt sick and threw the rest of the bag out! Which, I know, is a travesty.

I am SO glad it all worked out for the best. And how exciting it is that you're going to be in Italia not too far in the future. I wish I was doing that.
It sounds like you had a lovely weekend! Happy belated Easter!
