I had a flash of clarity this morning and a certain word that I have known since the age of about five suddenly took on a whole knew level of meaning for me.
Pipe cleaners—not only a critical ingredient in every kindergarten craft project. I’ll bet they call them "pipe cleaners" because you use them to... clean out pipes.
I'm not laughing at you... I'm laughing with you. Really.
But seriously, it took me until the birth of my first child to realize that 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' and 'The ABC song' all have the same melody.
You are sooooo not alone!

A friend of mine just realized (at age 35) that it was a "candelabra" and not a "candle opera." I know I have had my moments as well, but hers is the one that came to mind.

Funny you should mention this....
Hubby recently (like three weeks ago) took up pipe smoking (all the cool kids are doing it, ya know!).
He bought pipe cleaners to ummmm, clean his pipe and wasn't too happy when he found some of them turned into a dog sculpture by yours truly.

Ang,
It was a huge epiphany for me when I understood the meaning behind "U-Haul".
I was 12 and I looked at the sign and I said UHaul...U Haul... as in Me Haul!
My family hasn't let me forget it.
Enjoy your pipe cleaners.

Well, and just to clarify, not the kind of pipes that water runs through;)
